Another good month for the Vriesea splendens. Either I was misinformed or maybe I'm just lucky, whichever is the case, a second pup has started to form. There have been no other changes, feeding, watering, environment, etc., although I may have been misting slightly more frequently, as it was a hot, sunny month and temperatures in the polytunnel were getting a little too high on occasions. This plant is in fairly deep shade and I will be monitoring the new growth, in terms of size and colour, to determine whether it needs a little more light, but I think it will require at least a few months of growth before I can assess whether or not it is getting sufficient light.
