I bought this small bromeliad from a local shop in December. Although they are epiphitic, the pot seemed extremely small, so I repotted it as soon as I got it home in a well draining potting mix. It has been kept at 18-28°C (64-84°F) in my heated polytunnel and I have ensured that the "cup" always has some warm rainwater in it. Despite my effort the flower spike has faded from bright red to brown, so I'm just hoping that it produces some pups before it dies.
