Cordyline Beachcomber

Each of the Cordyline cultivars were re-potted during May. The new pots are somewhat oversized, but should be large enough to last until maturity. I have continued with my new mix of 25% perlite, 25% coir, 25% composted bark chips and 25% manure, so it is essentially a soil-less mix, but with plenty of organic matter. This mix should have a good lifespan, so over-potting shouldn't be an issue in terms of longevity. As far as growth is concerned, none of the cultivars missed a beat, so they should re-establish into the new medium very quickly. Whilst re-potting I removed some of the dead foilage which revealed some nicely coloured, ringed trunks. Otherwise there have been no cultural changes and I expect to leave things as they are until space becomes an issue.
