Trachycarpus fortunei

This palm was given to me in June 2005 by my Farther-In-Law, who had grown a few from seed. It went into my polytunnel briefly, but was already too large to fit in there comfortably and came back outside within a few months. It was totally unphased by our coldest winter for some time in 2005/2006, but the growth during the summer of 2006 was a little disappointing, possibly a reaction to the cold winter. It has continued to look happy enough through the much milder 2006/2007 winter and hopefully will achieve more growth in 2007. It is not too far off needing repotting, but I think it may be OK for this year, unless we have a particularly warm spring and growth starts earlier in the year than normal.
