The three remianing Heterospathe scitula seedlings have continued with steady growth in April with no changes to feeding, watering, etc. As with the other plants, these had to survive for a week without water in early April, although it is not really an issue for the plants in the germination containers as there is plenty of moisture and humidity in there. I also sprayed everything this month with a combined, systemic fungicide & insecticide, although, as far as I can tell, it didn't really do a great deal, as I can still see very small insects moving around. As these seedlings are very dainty, I don't imagine they will need re-potting for some time, but I may start to leave the cover off of the germination box for short periods of time to get them used to the normal polytunnel atmosphere in preparation for when they are moved out of the box. At the moment the lid only gets removed for short periods to allow the air inside to be replaced.
