I potted up 12 Dypsis psammophila seeds on 02/10/2006 into 5cm/2" root trainer bands, using a mixture of perlite, coir and composed bark chips with normal potting compost. They were treated the same as most of the other seeds I started around that time, i.e. in plastic storage containers inside my heated polytunnel. By December two had sprouted, but I noticed the leaves starting to burn and moved them to a lower light position. This seems to have done the trick as they have been growing healthily, albeit slowly, since. The shadier position is also slightly cooler and, as yet, there have been no more seeds sprout, but hopefully this will change over the coming months with the increase in temperatures.
