I potted up 12-15 Dypsis onilahensis seeds on 18/10/2006, some of which were pregerminated. I used a mixture of potting media, including perlite, potting compost, composted bark chips and coir and put two or three seeds in each 5cm/2" root trainer band. After watering the pots they were left in my polytunnel inside a plastic storage container with moist gravel at the bottom to aid humidity. By December two had sprouted with a further three in January. Those that have sprouted have grown quite well with the fastest starting to produce it's fourth leaf by March 2007. As temperatures increase with the approach of Spring I'm hoping further seeds will germinate. The more advanced seedlings are getting to the stage of needing repotting with some root growth emerging from the bottom of the pots, but I will leave this another month or two to avoid disturbing the other seeds that are sharing the pots.
