Dypsis florencei

May was a very sad month for the little Dypsis florencei. After the encouragement of a new leaf starting to form in April, there was continued growth for a week or two in May, then suddenly everything turned brown. I am assuming this is due to my removal of the lid of the germination box for longer periods, exposing the seedling to lower humidity, although it may have just not been able to sustain any new growth. This is very disappointing after nurchering the one remaining Dypsis florencei for several months, after a poor start in life. This will be the last update for this species, unless some of the other seeds begin to germinate. I do intend to try this species again, as it is a beautiful species and an ideal sized species for my situation.
