Three of the remaining Chamaedorea costaricana seedlings finally gave up in May. There was only brown tissue left and with the slightest of tugs, they just pulled away from the soil. Whilst there is one remaining plant, it only has a very small amount of green left and I doubt it will be far behind the others. With the exception of divine intervention, I don't imagine I will need to post further updates for these plants. There are still some seeds in the pot that haven't germinated, so there is a chance of some future with this species, but, if I am right in my suspicion that these plants have fallen to rotting roots, then further germination in the same pot is unlikely. Whilst losing any palm is disappointing, this species was the least appropriate of the Chamaedorea for my situation as they grow taller than the other species and are less cold tolerant.
