The Cycas taintungensis gave me a nice surprise in April. After returning from a week in Tenerife, during which time the plant had received no water and was in very dry soil, a new flush had started. This really is a testament to the vigorous nature of this plant, which had had many setbacks over the previous few months. I had expected to wait months for another flush and, whilst this has been the longest period to date between flushes, to have recovered this quickly from previous damage is amazing. I was also finally able to relocate it after having created some space in mid April by moving some hardier plants out of the polytunnel. The new location is a little cooler with less light and the growth rate may slow down as a result, but it should avoid the accidental damage that seemed to occur continuously in the previous location.
