My Cycas taitungensis suffered yet another set back in March with the pot being blown over again, during some windy weather. Fortunately the pot survived, but the plant came totally out of the pot and damaged another two fronds. This was the last thing this plant needed when I was trying to encourage recovery from previous calamities. I removed the two damaged fronds, as I didn't want them to become entry points for disease or rot. I really need to sort out a better location for this plant to avoid the chance of this happpening again, but space is very limited at the moment. There will be more space available within a couple of months when a couple of the plants in the polytunnel move outside, so hopefully I can avoid further drama until that time. On a slightly more encouraging note, when the plant came out of the pot, I was able to observe a considerable amount of new root growth since having been repotted, so assuming it isn't too upset now I expect it to recover fairly quickly and hopefully flush again within the next few months.
