After the other two Cycas panzhihuaensis produced a new leaf each in April, this one produced a new leaf a couple of weeks later. At this point it looks as though the composted bark chips are the best of the three media that I tried with this species, although with only one test subject for each medium, I can't rule out the possibility that it is just a stronger plant. There have been no changes to watering, feeding, etc., and I quite happy, at the moment, to leave this plant as it is until it needs re-potting.
